DC Restaurant Week & Philly On the Fly

What's better than partaking in DC restaurant week for a four course pri fixe lunch at a James Beard award winning chef's restaurant? Partaking when it's FREE ;)

We started a new reward/incentive at work last week. If you close 3 deals in a day, the next morning you get to spin the Wheel... Of.... Prizes!
{We added the Adderall space as a joke and surprised our managers. Was hilarious}
I had a great contract day on Wednesday so I was stoked when I FINALLY got to spin!!! I landed on "Brian buys lunch" along with 5 other people this week.

Today, they took all 6 winners to a place I've been dying to try... Zatinya. The owner/chef is the acclaimed Jose Andres. He was a recent recipient of the James Beard "Outstanding Chef" award and has a few well known restaurants in D.C. I've been dying to eat here, so you can imagine my excitement when this is the restaurant they selected. Amazing Food + Restaurant Week + Free = Happy Kate.

Decisions, decisions....
 I started with the Baba Ganoush...
 Then moved on to Seared Scallops with Yogurt Sauce...
De. Lish.
Next, I had the Garides De Manthio {sauteed shrimp in a lemon/mustard sauce}
O. M. G.
 And I finished it off with the Turkish Delight.
Delight is an understatement.
The pictures speak for themselves! Very impressed. All I know is that I can't wait to go back for round 2.

Moving on... Any big plans for the weekend??

Zeke and I are making a random impulsive trip to Philadelphia. There's a Livestrong bike ride on Sunday morning right outside of the city, and we've never been to Philly, so we though... why not?! It's only a 3 hour drive, and we don't really have any plans, so we're going to hop in the car and go. You only live once!

If you have any suggestions for sight seeing or "must do's" {other than the Liberty Bell and eating a Philly cheese steak}, let me know!  I'm soooooooooo excited.
Philadelphia... Here we come!
