Good news- I went to the dermatologist Friday morning for my bites, and my skin infection is gone. I also did a skin scan for melanoma, and it came out clear! Considering the fact that I've been tanning since I was 14, you can imagine my relief. My bites are still bothering me, so he gave me a cream to use 2x a day, and it's already made a huge difference in a day and a half. I'm just glad that I'll finally be able to wear shorts again.
Moving on... I'm sure you can imagine the sounds that I made when I opened my make up box and found 2 tickets for the NKOTBSB concert that I was dying to go to. I had accepted the fact that I wasn't going to hear Joey's angelic voice sing "Please don't go girl" again, and that I wouldn't be able to sing along to "I want it that way" with Nick Carter. But, as always, my wonderful husband came through in the clutch.
He arranged a girl's date night for me and my friend Brittany. She's made previous appearances on the blog and is one of my favorite people that' I've met since moving here. She met me at my office to and we walked to RedLine to have some pre-show cocktails. We were feeling saucy and decided to kick the night off with a dirty martini. Not a good idea- they were terrible! We drank them anyways (of course) then played it safe with beer. My co-workers Adam and Casey were there and took some action shots for us.
We headed to the show around 8:15 and were ECSTATIC when we got to our seats. We were in the first section, 7th row!!! Another props to the hubster, he's the best :) We stocked up on beverages for the show and anxiously awaited the return of our two favorite boy bands!
I knew the set list thanks to Perez Hilton, and was so excited to hear all of my favorite BSB songs! From the moment they stepped on the stage to the last song, we were screaming, dancing, and starry eyed. I'm not exaggerating when I say this was the loudest crowd I've ever seen at a concert. And I've probably been to 50+ concerts in my lifetime.
They put on a great show, had the dance moves perfect, and wore tight sleeveless shirts that gave me a new appreciation for men in their late 30's and early 40's with toned arms. Joey was still dreamy, Jordan sexy, and Nick Carter has slimmed down and re-ignited my flame for blondes again. These are the pics from my phone, I'm too hungover to upload the ones from my camera. It just seems like too much effort.
Post show, we met up with the boys at Spider Kelly's in Clarendon. I think we had fun.
I've spent all day on the couch in the fetal position. I somehow managed to whip together a tasty breakfast this morning... Egg Sandwiches and fresh cherries. I forgot how good cherries are, especially at the beginning of the summer. I think my next cooking challenge will be a homemade cherry pie.
I'm about to get off the couch for the first time in 6 hours and hop in the shower. Zeke's company is participating in the Virginia Relay for Life, so we are going up there to hang out for a little while. Thank you to everyone who donated to him- he raised $2250! His goal was $2500, so if you read this and have some money burning a hole in your checking account, there's still time to support the cause ;)

I hope you Saturday was much more productive than mine!
