Target strikes again

I had another reason to celebrate spring in DC today- the farmer's market across the street is finally open! I've missed that since since moving away from Houston. I used to go to the farmer's market in Highland Village behind Escalante's and watch the cooking demos for new, fresh ideas in the kitchen. I was so excited when I looked out the window this morning and saw all of the vendors set up!

This one is a little smaller than the Highland Village one, but I can literally walk out of my building, cross the street, and I'm there!

Smith Meadows Meats- it's fate!
Pretty flowers & fresh herbs. I bought my first Oregano plant!

One hour and $35 later, I came home with mild jalapeno salsa fresca & home made corn chips, sweet potato bread, grass fed spicy Italian pork sausage from Smith Meadows, organic vine ripened tomato sauce, and my new baby Oregano plant. I can't wait to cook the sausage! I'm saving it for tomorrow night :)

After inhaling the sweet potato bread, we took an afternoon trip to Target to look for a new duvet in the guest bedroom and to buy more Thank You cards. We left with new wall art for the living room, a baker's rack, 2 matching rugs for the kitchen & entry way, Zeke got a few new shirts, a hat, and some flip flops, and I got a dress. That's what happens when you have gift cards and nothing to do on a Sunday afternoon.

We forgot to look for a duvet and the Thank You cards.

Damn you, Target!!! Our kitchen is finally finished, though, and I love it. The living room art looks great, too, but I'm waiting to post until we get our curtains installed. Baby steps.
Instant extra cabinet & counter space!
Off to bed for this girl, heading to work early tomorrow to prepare for a presentation. Sweet dreams.
